Hypnosis

Hypnotism

Hypnosis is a Greek word meaning “Sleep” but when in a Hypnotic relaxation (trance) you are not sleeping rather you are in a state of heighten awareness

Almost all people can be Hypnotized as long as they co-operate unless they are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or have a very low I.Q.

The client is always in control and if an inappropriate suggestion is given while in trance the client will do one of two things:

  • Reject the suggestion or come out of trance

Other common questions include- What if I get stuck in trance and you cannot bring me back?

Occasionally some clients may fall asleep during a deepening process in the Hypnosis session and will simply wake up when asked to just the way you wake up every day

Hypnosis sessions usually last between 15 to 30 minutes and include a post Hypnotic Suggestion that covers periods between sessions

Some common strategies I use in Hypnosis to fit the specific needs of clients are:

  • Relating the sensation

  • Control of movement

  • Changing the taste

  • Alternatives

  • Certain colors

  • Time distortion

  • Change history

  • Creating Amnesia

  • Going back in time

  • Looking into the future

  • Hypnosis sessions equal about 4 hours of sleep due to the relaxing effect of the process

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is an advanced form of the Hypnotic Arts and is also used instead of the Progessive Relaxation Induction or in addition to basic Hypnotism
